Extraction methods:

Almost all the cannabinoids present in plants are found in the trichomes of marijuana (what we commonly call resin or pollen). The extractions of this resin are an ancient system of taking advantage of the psychoactive substances in cannabis.

The most traditional method is dry extractions using sieves or simply your hands, then scraping off the resin that accumulates on your fingers and palms.

But little by little other techniques have been imposed, such as Ice-o-Lator, for which water and ice are used. As trichomes are fat-soluble, they can dissolve in fatty substances such as oil or milk. But they do not dissolve in water. The newest techniques are BHO (Butane Hash Oil) in which butane gas is used, which acts as a solvent. The latest extraction technique to become fashionable is Rosin. In it, hot irons are used to compress a small amount of buds previously wrapped in baking paper to facilitate subsequent harvesting.
